Avinya Affiliates is an independent review site. We publish buying guides, comparisons and how-to articles for two kinds of things: digital products such as software and online tools, and physical products such as electronics, home goods and personal care.
What we actually do
Most product content online is written to fill a page. We try to write the thing you would want a knowledgeable friend to tell you: what the categories of a product actually differ on, which differences matter for which kind of buyer, and where the marketing language stops describing anything real.
That means our guides usually spend more time on how to choose than on ranking a list. A recommendation that fits nobody in particular is not much use.
How we make money
Some of the links on this site are affiliate links. If you click one and buy something, the retailer or the software company may pay us a small commission. The price you pay does not change.
That arrangement only works if the advice is honest, so we say when a product is not worth it, when a cheaper option is enough, and when the sensible answer is to buy nothing. Full details are on our affiliate disclosure page.
What we do not do
We do not accept payment for a positive review. We do not publish sponsored posts dressed up as editorial. We do not invent test results or quote specifications we have not checked.
Where we have not tested something ourselves, we say so and explain what our assessment is based on.
Corrections
Products change, prices move, and we get things wrong sometimes. If you spot an error, tell us through the contact page and we will fix it and note the correction.
