What we collect
Information you give us. If you email us, we receive your email address and the content of your message. We use it to reply and for nothing else.
Comments. If commenting is enabled and you leave a comment, we store the comment, the name and email address you supply, and your IP address. This is standard WordPress behaviour and is used for spam filtering and moderation.
Automatically collected information. Like most websites, our server records standard technical data on each visit: IP address, browser and device type, the pages viewed and the page you arrived from. This is used to keep the site running securely and to understand which articles are useful.
Cookies
Cookies are small files stored by your browser. This site may use them for essential functions such as keeping you logged in if you have an account, and in connection with affiliate links.
Affiliate cookies are how a retailer knows a visitor arrived from this site. They record that a click happened and when, so a commission can be attributed. They do not tell us who you are.
You can block or delete cookies through your browser settings. Blocking them will not stop you reading anything here.
Analytics and advertising
We do not currently run third party analytics or advertising on this site. If that changes, this policy will be updated to name the providers used and to explain how to opt out, and the date at the top of this page will change.

Who we share information with
We do not sell your personal information. Information is shared only with the service providers that make the site work, such as our hosting provider and any affiliate networks referred to above, and where we are required to by law.
How long we keep it
Emails are kept as long as needed to deal with your enquiry. Comments and their metadata are retained so that follow-up comments can be recognised, unless you ask us to remove them. Server logs are retained for a limited period for security and troubleshooting.
Your rights
Depending on where you live, you may have the right to request a copy of the personal data we hold about you, to have it corrected, to have it deleted, and to object to certain processing. To make a request, email the address above. We may need to verify your identity first.
Children
This site is not directed at children and we do not knowingly collect information from them. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, contact us and we will remove it.
Security
We take reasonable measures to protect information, but no website can promise perfect security. Please do not send sensitive personal information to us by email.
